A $125 million dollar judgment has been entered in the 408th Judicial District Court in Bexar County, Texas against Audi AG and Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.

The lawsuit involved claims made by the parents of Jesse Rivera Jr, represented by Joe Dunn and Jeff Wigington of Wigington Rumley Dunn & Blair, LLP, that the seat back of the 2005 Audi A4 was too weak to withstand a rear-end collision allowing the driver’s seat to collapse, causing the boy’s father, who was driving, to slide backwards hitting his head on his son’s head who was seated directly behind him.

The judgment follows a jury verdict in which a Bexar County jury awarded $124.5 million to an 11-year old boy who was left brain damaged as a result of a defective 2005 Audi A4.

The Court also ordered VW to pay approximately $17,000.00 a day in post judgment interest until the judgment is paid.
