$500K suit planned in 2007 JPS van fatality
The family of a Jackson Public Schools teacher who died in an accident last summer in a district-owned van has told JPS it will sue.
A notice of claim, filed with the district, says the suit will seek $500,000 in damages in the 2007 accident that killed Connie Little Harrell.
The literacy coach at Walton Elementary was riding in a JPS 15-passenger van with six other JPS employees headed to a work-related convention on the Gulf Coast when the vehicle went out of control and crashed on U.S. 49 in Mendenhall.
