South Texas jury verdict one of nation's priciest
One of the nation's largest jury verdicts last year was awarded in South Texas, a legal publication announced Monday.
Lawyers Weekly USA ranked the top 10 jury verdicts of 2002. Holding the No. 4 spot on the list was the $225 million awarded in Duval County to Texas families who lost relatives in a rollover crash involving a year-old Ford F-150 super cab pickup.
Corpus Christi lawyer Jeff Wigington represented the family of Paul Alaniz, 34, who was killed in July 2001 when he lost control of his truck and rolled it three times on a country road near San Diego.
