Josh is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin in 1988. Josh obtained his law degree from the South Texas College of Law in 1993. At South Texas, he was a member of the Board of Advocates and competed at a national level representing South Texas in Moot Court. After graduating from law school, Josh worked for the plaintiff firm of Fisher, Gallagher & Lewis in Houston, Texas. He left the firm in 1995 to start the plaintiff firm of Bouman & Hopkins, L.LP. Josh continued to practice in Houston for the following nine years, prior to returning home to Corpus Christi and ultimately joining the firm.

Josh is a member of the State Bar of Texas, The State Bar of Oklahoma, Nueces County Bar Association, and the Corpus Christi Bar Association. He is also a member of the Attorneys Information Exchange Group (AIEG) and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association (TTLA). He is licensed to practice law in the state courts of Texas and Oklahoma and in the United States District Courts for the Southern and Western Districts of Texas. He is also a licensed patent lawyer and admitted to the United State Patent and Trademark Office.

Josh has been lead trial counsel in numerous cases involving serious injuries and death. He has litigated cases across the country including the states of Utah, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.
