Jeffrey G. Wigington

Jeffrey G. (“Jeff”) Wigington has been Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1999. He is an "AV®” rated lawyer in the Martindale-Hubbell legal directory. He is a member and past President of the American Board of Trial Advocates (Corpus Christi, Texas Chapter). Jeff has been named a Texas Super Lawyer™ on multiple occasions.

He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in business with honors from Baylor University in 1989. Jeff obtained his law degree from the Wake Forest University School of Law in 1992. At Wake Forest, he was a member of the National Order of Barristers, Moot Court Board, and the American Inns of Court. After graduating from law school, Jeff joined the defense firm of Brin & Brin, P.C. in Corpus Christi, Texas. He quickly distinguished himself and was named a partner after four years with the firm. Jeff joined Harris & Watts, P.C. in 1998. His first case resulted in a $7,500,000.00 net recovery for his client. As a partner in this firm he earned other multi-million dollar recoveries for his clients.

Jeff and his original partner, David Rumley, formed the law firm of Wigington Rumley, LLP in February of 2002. In their first year, Wigington Rumley, LLP obtained a $225,000,000 verdict against Ford Motor Company. This verdict represents one of the largest awards of actual damages in the history of the state of Texas, and the largest award of compensatory damages against Ford Motor Company.

In January, 2009, Joe Dunn became a partner in the firm, and the firm became Wigington Rumley Dunn, L.L.P.

Jeff is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Texas Trial Lawyers Association (TTLA), American Association of Justice (AAJ), and the Corpus Christi Bar Association. He is also a member of the Attorneys Information Exchange Group (AIEG) and the Litigation Counsel of America. He is a Fellow in the Oklahoma Bar Association. He is licensed to practice law in the state courts of Texas and Oklahoma, and in the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas. He currently serves on the State Bar of Texas Personal Injury Trial Law Advisory Commission.

Jeff is also involved in complex multi-district litigation. This includes his work as liaison counsel on the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee for the Texas Toyota Sudden Unintended Acceleration MDL.

Jeff has been lead trial counsel in cases involving multi-million dollar recoveries for his clients. He has been featured as a speaker in various civil litigation seminars, and is a published author on civil litigation issues. His ATLA (now AAJ) publications include "Ford's Dangerous Door-Latch Defects" and "The Best-Selling Defect in America." His cases have been profiled by, or he has been quoted as a legal authority by, numerous major news organizations such as the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and USA Today. Jeff has prosecuted cases in mutliple states across the country.
